These are a few of our location shots. As our story line was about racism we had to link the london life with the muslim community which in our case was the East London mosque and Regents mosque.

7) EVALUATION-LOOKING BACK AT YOUR PRELIMENARY TASK, WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNED IN THE PROGRESSION FROM IT TO THE FULL PRODUCTS

We have made alot of progress from doing our prelimanary task to doing our final media product. When we first started filming the preliminary task we found it really confusing because we were having trouble editing things together because the clips were quite different for e.g. whilst one clip was light the othe clip was dark and there were alot of clips that were out of focus too.

When we were editing things together it was really confusing because alot of the clips we did were not as good and there were clips that we needed to film. But because we were not able to film again we managed to put other things in with it to make it longer and it all fit well together.

We also used live type to add the titles in but we managed to do one title and had difficulty adding in the other titles.

Due to technical difficulties we wasn't able to upload any clips from our prelimanary task and our final film 'Times Up.'

6) EVALUATION-WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?

While we was going through the process of making our film 'Times up' we had to use so many different kinds of technology, such as
JVC digital tapeless cameras to record,
internet to reasearh,
final cut pro to create and edit our film,
livetype to edit our titles,
soundtrack pro to make our soundtrack,
also blogger to create our posts.

At first it was quite hard learning to use the camera and going through the risk assesment over and over again just to make sure it was safe , sometimes it was quite annoying but then we jus got used to it.

we had no problems researching from the internet what so ever.

the hardest thing we went through was to learn how to use final cut pro , how to to put the right clips together with the right times, and also learning to use live type and soundtrack pro was at first like a jigsaw puzzle but we found the pieces at the end of it.

most of the times blogger caused problems such as slow uploading or not uploading pictures and videos at all which created a big problem for us, unfortunately we couldn't sort it out.

if i could do this project again i would use time more sensibly.

5)EVALUATION-WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT

Sumaiya , 17 , a clever, muslim ,asian girl who is currently studying Alevels at city and islington college always has her head burried in her books, also she has a passion for reciting the qur'an and preaching it's meaning.

she always carries a pocket version of the quran with her because she believes it will keep her safe.

she also loves to go out shopping to buy scarfs with her friends.

our film 'Times up' will appeal to her because it is about the struggles that muslim girls have to go through in London.

This still from our thriller is very effective because it represents the a multicultural society which has many muslims as the centre of attraction this ties in with our film because this is what we wanted to show.

3&4)EVALUATION-WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHT DISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY? HOW WILL YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR AUDIENCE

Our film 'TIMES UP' is of low budget and is made by me n some other students , it will be released over the internet on vimeo, embedded on to a blog and find it's way on to youtube. it will get a cinematic screening and shared screening amongst my peers and maybe family.

i would use the internet for further distribution by making a website to promote the film with free downloads such as film related games, pictures and the soundtrack, also i would have online posters of the film.

i would attract my audience by giving them free downloads also by teaming up with a organisation such as HMV CURZON because they would give special rewards such as free tickets for CURZON cinemas in different magazines for different genders so it can can attract more people also by word of mouth our film could also be promoted.

This image is from the movie 'Seven' where the photo's are being cut and scribbled on.

This is similar to the one we have done in our thriller clip 'Times Up' because we are also scribbling and burning photos.

Intro to camera &health&safety

Before we started to film our teachers taught us how to use a video camera safely, we learnt how to turn on a camera, put a battery in, eject a battery safely, put in the memory cards, we learnt how to use different functions on the camera s
uch us zoom in & out and change the focus etc we also learnt how to place the camera on the tri-pod and take it off safely.

last lesson..

last lesson we were shown how to use three different softwares to help us edit our clip for our thriller opening and also to give us a head start,the softwares were called live type,final cut pro and sound type pro.

final cut pro is used to edit the work so far and add the finishing touches to make it the final piece of work.

live type is used to make the titles in the beggining and endin of the films come alive, you can change the colour, font, the way it's shown, you give it special effects and even create a unique backround.

last but not least sound type pro is used to edit the soundtrack of the film there are lots of sounds to choose from.

thriller opening clips [se7ven]

The film 'se7en' opens with suspense because it starts off with a sequences of images of what could be described as the 'lab' it has images of 'tweezers, scissors, thread, etc.This makes the whole film seem a mystery because the audience dosen't know what's coming next, also the background music gives it a feel of an eery atmospehere.

'No country for old men'[Thriller film]

In the film 'No country for old men' suspense is created from the beginning of the film by having the opening credits in silence then the action started when the police man captured the mass murderer, he turned his back on him while he was on the phone and in that short time the mass murderer un hand cuffed himself and killed the policeman, this was a very interesting thriller opening because iit created irony as the audience knew what was coming next but the policeman didn't.

'no country for old men' is a mysterious, unexplained plot because everything happens so unexpectadely that it shocks the audience with an agonising

thrill.

Suspense?

suspense can be defined as the growing interest and excitement felt while awaiting a climax or resolution, as of a novel, play, series of events, etc.

'Halloween'

The title sequence to 'Halloween' is in an burnt orange bold gothic font to represent the signature halloween pumpkin,the bubbly font suggests that it could be a children's thriller film because 'Halloween' is normally for children.

The black background attracts attention to the burnt orange title credits the colours used suggest the connotations of halloween-[dark night, orange, and a lit pumkin,etc.
